SILVER Ontario Ministry of the Environment - Ontario's Drinking Water Safety Net
Following the tragic events of Walkerton, Ontario has been highly successful in developing and delivering an innovative, multi-faceted drinking water safety net, whose strength is dedicated provincial oversight, broad stakeholder engagement and partnership, and a range of innovative delivery tools.

BRONZE Alberta Infrastructure - A New Approach to School Infrastructure
an innovative two-part solution to address the shortage of schools in places where young families live. The solution included the introduction of core school designs, re-locatable modular classrooms and a public-private partnership (P3) procurement approach. The new schools will save government $118 million; The 18 schools will be delivered in 38 months, 24 months less than traditional procurement methods. The planning process was reduced by 9 months. The new schools will have a reduced environment footprint, achieving LEED Silver certification.

Imagine immigrating to BC. But to find the information you need, you must navigate 11 provincial ministries, four federal websites and a host of other sources. WelcomeBC.ca worked across governments and engaged immigrants to put the information in one place.

Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care - Patient Safety Indicator Public Reporting
Under a plan launched in May 2008, the Ontario government introduced full public reporting on eight patient safety indicators in hospitals between September 2008 and April 2009 as part of a comprehensive plan to create an unprecedented level of transparency in Ontario’s hospitals.

City of Calgary Information Technology - Collaboration Enhances Outcomes for Technological Innovation
The first project of its kind in North America, The City of Calgary Information Technology used robotics to implement fibre optic cabling into existing City storm drains. Through collaboration, forward-thinking and an innovative approach to asset management, IT enhanced existing business relationships and dramatically reduced capital costs.

Ontario Office of Francophone Affairs - Building the New Paradigm for French-language Services Accountability, Leadership and Excellence in Ontario
The Ontario Office of Francophone Affairs, for the promotion of French-language Services (FLS) through the successful development and implementation of a strategic FLS Performance Measurement Framework, and the creation of new resources and initiatives designed to support ministries. These interconnected initiatives include an online Compendium of effective FLS practices, as well as “FLEX” (French-Language EXcellence), the first leadership training program for bilingual staff in the Ontario Public Service

Policy Research Initiative and Privy Council Office -Canada@150
