Program Overview

Each series consists of four workshops that are conducted entirely online, each workshop will last 90 minutes and include a 15-20 minute Q&A session.

Introduction to AI Literacy

Led by David Marotte, Quebec Leader, Data and Artificial Intelligence, KPMG this session explores the fundamentals of AI, its applications in the public sector, and its importance for citizens.

The Art of Prompt Engineering

Learn effective strategies for interacting with AI to achieve optimal outcomes and enhance your workflow efficiency.

AI Tools to Boost Productivity

Discover how to leverage Microsoft 365’s Copilot AI assistant and other readily available tools to enhance your productivity and streamline your work processes.

Use Cases for Public Sector

This session analyzes recent successful AI use cases at various government levels, highlighting their significant value and impact in the public sector.

Additional Support and Resources

Each participant cohort will have two hours of additional time to engage with a KPMG expert for any outstanding questions. To reinforce your learning journey beyond the workshops, we will provide curated 'leave behinds' that serve as valuable resources for ongoing development and practical application of skills.

Who can participate in the AI Skills Training Series?

This program is open to all Canadian public servants, regardless of their role or level. The workshops are designed to benefit anyone interested in applying AI to their work in the public sector.

How much does it cost?

The program is completely free for Canadian public servants.

Do I need prior knowledge of AI?

No prior AI experience is required. The workshops are designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical applications that anyone can understand and implement.

What is the format of the workshops?

The sessions are 90 minutes long, including 15–20 minutes for Q&A. They will be held virtually via Zoom, with live interaction and polls to keep participants engaged.

Will I receive a certificate for completing the series?

Yes, participants who complete all four workshops will receive a certificate of completion, demonstrating their newly acquired AI skills.

Can I attend just one workshop, or do I need to participate in all four?

We recommend completing the full series to maximize your learning and receive a certificate. You will not earn the certificate if you do not attend all four workshops.

What if I miss a live session? Are the workshops recorded?

Yes, all sessions are recorded. Registered participants who miss a live session will receive access to the recordings. As long as you watch all four workshop recordings, you are still eligible to receive the certificate of completion.

How do I access the recordings?

Recordings will be emailed to all registered participants following each session. Be sure to register for the workshops in advance to receive access.

Can I ask questions during the workshops?

Yes! Each session includes time for Q&A with the speakers. You can submit your questions during the webinar through the Zoom Q&A feature.

Who is hosting the series?

This training series is hosted by IPAC in collaboration with Microsoft. Sessions are delivered by subject-matter experts from KPMG and Microsoft, bringing real-world AI expertise to the public sector context.
