The Calgary Police Commission Survey Process
Creating Actionable Results
Author: Jennifer Freund
Publication Date: 2013
The Calgary Police Commission's Survey process completed its fourth survey cycle in the fall of 2011. While this process faced many obstacles in its early years, it is a valuable tool that leads to the identification of actionable outcomes to improve the Calgary Police Service in the eyes of its key external and internal stakeholders, the citizens of Calgary and the members of the Police Service. The application of survey tools in gauging public opinion is a valuable tool. The lessons learned in this case would aid other organizations considering their use.
