Achieve Design Excellence in Public Innovation

4-module virtual training workshop developed by the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) and the Danish Design Centre
We are thrilled to introduce an innovative solution tailored to address the evolving landscape of public sector challenges in Canada. This year's modules offer a new and more advanced set of design thinking modules to address emerging “top of mind” issues for the Canadian public sector.
The virtual training program is divided into 4 modules.
Module 1: Designing digital services and responsible AI - May 6
Module 2: Future of work: Designing management and organization in the hybrid age - May 13
Module 3: Mission-led innovation: Systems innovation/addressing wicked problems by design - May 21
Module 4: Mission-led innovation: Exploring new futures: Enabling strategic conversations with futures design and Mission-oriented innovation for systems change - May 27
Program Overview:
Timeline: 4 modules delivered between May 6, 13, 21, & 27 2024*
Duration: Each module will be 120 minutes in duration.
Process: Preparation (short readings + survey), Presentations, breakouts, Q&A
Faculty: Subject-matter experts from the Danish Design Centre and the States of Change.
Learning Outcomes Include:
- Understanding the value of human-centered approaches in design.
- Applying tools and frameworks to address complex challenges.
- Developing organizational strategies for future readiness.
- Navigating uncertain futures and fostering strategic conversations.

**All modules will be live-streamed on the date/time indicated. IPAC will share recordings and presentations from all modules within 48 hours of each live-stream date.
