IPAC-U - Politics, Policy, Pressure, and Pot: Cannabis Legalization in Canada - Dr. Jared Wesley

What are governments aiming to achieve through cannabis legalization?  How have they coordinated their efforts to define and meet their objectives? How have they moved from prohibition to legalization in a matter of months? And what are their prospects for success?  Dr. Jared Wesley explores these and other questions in a one-hour workshop exploring policymaking under pressure.

Jared Wesley is a pracademic -- a practicing political scientist and recovering bureaucrat -- whose career path to an Associate Professor role in the Department of Political Science at the University of Alberta has included senior management positions in the Alberta Executive Council and the Alberta Public Service Commission.  He studies the politics of bureaucracy and the bureaucracy of politics.  Follow him on Twitter (@ipracademic).
