IPAC-U: The Intersection of Health and Economics
At the intersection of health and economics, ADM Michele Evans finds herself regularly using her pharmacy and health background to strategically position economic development activity in the province for success. Join us, as she walks through the opportunities and challenges that diverse public sector experience provide in today’s Alberta economy. This session is for anyone who is interested in learning more about non-traditional career paths, building diverse teams, and using transferrable skills to their fullest in the public sector. It will benefit those interested in exploring unexpected career opportunities.
Currently the Assistant Deputy Minister, Tourism and Economic Development, Michele has served the Government of Alberta for over fourteen years. In collaboration with Alberta’s communities and businesses, her team advances strategies to create the conditions for increased economic capacity. With approaches that improve access to capital for entrepreneurs, administering tax credit and grant programs, promoting new technology, developing our tourism assets and removing barriers to competitiveness, her team looks to improve Alberta’s economic outcomes. Michele has worked as a pharmacist in small community stores and large pharmaceutical companies. She has a Masters in Health Science from the University of Toronto and Pharmacy degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
